Award Winning author Suzanna Lynn hosts an upbeat, fun, and engaging reading of her book “You Are Special,” followed by a discussion about the moral of the story, a Q&A with the students, as well as a show of tricks by Buddy himself!

What's included in an author visit
1) A free paperback copy of “You Are Special” "Good Things Take Time" and "Decisions Matter" for the school library.
2) A free bookmark and coloring page for each student, Pre-K through Fifth Grade.
3) An energetic and entertaining book reading* by Author Suzanna Lynn.
4) A Q&A with the kids where they can ask about Buddy, being an author, and being an illustrator.
5) A short show of tricks by Buddy (if animal appearances are applicable to school policy – we are insured).
6) With school's permission, every child will get to pet Buddy as they leave the event.
7) Book order forms to send home one week prior to event (at a 25% discount to retail).
8) Books available for sale during event (books will also be available to purchase on the website for up to a week after the event) (at a 25% discount to retail).
*Due to separation of church and state laws, the final page of the book (which contains a scripture from the Bible that wraps up the moral of the story) will not be read at public schools. This is a bonus page and doesn't hurt the flow of the story. The story itself does not mention religion or God in any way.

The CostCurrently, all public and private school appearances within our blue Southwest, Missouri touring area (see map below) are free! We only ask that book order forms are sent home with students several days prior to the event (PDF will be provided for school to print off).
For a reasonable travel fee*, we will happily visit areas outside of our touring area! *These travel fees cover our cost of gas, wear and tear on our vehicle, insurance, assistant wages (when applicable), and meals while traveling. Click on map below to see a larger version with travel fee costs |
