Make Reading Come to Life with Author Suzanna Lynn and her corgi companion, Winnie!
Looking for an unforgettable experience your students will love?
Award-winning children’s author Suzanna Lynn is bringing her corgi companion Winnie on tour to schools in the Dallas/Fort Worth area this February 2026 — and your school has the chance to be part of it!
Suzanna captivates students with laughter, heart, and energy during a lively reading of her book You Are Special — a story that opens the door to meaningful conversations about kindness, confidence, and standing up to bullies.
After the story, students dive into an engaging discussion about its message, followed by a fun Q&A session where they can ask questions about writing, illustrating, and life with the corgi crew. Just when they think the excitement is over, Winnie takes the stage with a special trick performance that always earns smiles and applause. To top it all off, every student receives a free Buddy bookmark, and those who wish can enjoy a quick meet-and-greet pet with Winnie as they return to class — a memory they’ll be talking about long after the day is done.
The Buddy the Blue Corgi series reinforces the values every teacher wants to instill: patience, acceptance, friendship, positive character, and self-worth. Perfect for preschool through fifth grade, this inspiring, interactive event encourages students to love reading while learning important life lessons.
Spots are limited and will fill quickly, so don’t miss your chance to bring this paws-itively heartwarming event to your school!
Note: Winnie is up to date on vaccinations and fully insured, as required by law.

Here are just a few teachers who have had a Buddy the Blue Corgi school assembly
Buddy and Suzanna Lynn were a HUGE hit for our district! They came out to our remote corner Garden City, Kansas, and put on multiple presentations over 3 days. The kids are requesting her books and READING them. Adults thought the presentations were fantastic. The students enjoyed the story, Buddy's tricks and time to ask questions. If you are looking for an excellent author, Illustrator with bonus of performance of dog tricks I cannot recommend this team enough. She is excellent to work with for organizing multiple shows a day at various schools in the district. I highly recommend having Suzanna Lynn and her team visit your school.
- Mechele Thompson - District Librarian
Suzanna did a wonderful job reading the story to the students; they especially enjoyed the different voices for the characters. Having the pictures displayed on the projector allowed all the students to really enjoy the story. Having Buddy there to do tricks and show the students who the stories are based on was a wonderful touch.
- Miss Harris - School Librarian
I very much enjoyed your presentation and I liked how you handled and interacted with the kids during your visit. You explained how and why you started writing and you were pretty open and honest with your answers to the kids' questions. I especially liked the way you moved around for all to be able to see and how you handled repeat questions and "distracted" students. I wasn't sure how the assembly was going to go when we first came in, but I left a fan!!!!
- Ms. Welch- 5th grade teacher
I have seen several presenters and I must say this one was one of the best. The kids were engaged and interested. They really enjoyed the story with the character voices. And what could be better than one cute doggie? Two! Both were so gentle and calm with hundreds of kids petting them. That was a special treat.
